Final Avengers: Endgame Predictions!

It’s here. It’s finally here. After a year of waiting we will finally have resolution to one of the greatest comic book movies of all time. After 10 years and 22 movies, Endgame will be the conclusion to this epic saga of movies and be the second to last movie in Phase 3 of the MCU. So before the beginning of the end, let’s do what we did with Game of Thrones and make some predictions about what we think will happen this weekend in theaters.

1) I’m going to start with a simple prediction that I feel confident about. Let’s start at the end with the mid-credits and post-credit sequences. There will be two sequences, but I don’t think any of them will tease anything massive and I think they will be a combination of a look back on the MCU so far and a tribute to Stan Lee. Maybe it will have a small teaser for Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that is the extent of what we will see concerning the future of the MCU.

2) Next one up! Captain Marvel won’t be in this movie very long. This movie was shot before Captain Marvel’s origin movie was made so I don’t think Marvel knew what they had in Captain Marvel since it hadn’t been released yet. Also they want to make this movie about the original six Avengers (Hulk, Cap, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and Hawkeye). Ant-Man will be in the movie a good bit too, but I think he’s there primarily for comedic relief so much of the actual tension and plot will revolve around the original six.

I’m sure the producers at Marvel wish Captain Marvel was in this movie more because her movie was so financially successful (worldwide box office total is over $1 billion). Just like how I’m sure many of the Marvel creators wish they didn’t snap Black Panther away because his movie was so successful (both critically and financially); the people behind the scenes at Marvel are more than likely to make sure Captain Marvel is in as many movies as possible going forward after Endgame.

3) This next prediction is my boldest, but it is the prediction I am most confident in. No one is going to die in this movie besides Thanos (heck he may not even die). A lot of fans are expecting this conclusion to be a blood bath like Game of Thrones will be this weekend, but I can’t shake the feeling that this movie is still a Disney property which means it’s a movie for parents and kids to see together. I also think we need to have our heroes save the day and barely avoid death like they have so many times before. That way they can ride off into the sunset and retire which will allow the next generation of heroes to take over.

4) There are rumors in this movie that Thanos uses the Infinity Gauntlet again which is interesting. It seemed smashed and unusable at the end of Infinity War, but maybe he figured out a way to restore its power or maybe it just needed a cool-off period. We know the Avengers are going to fight Thanos again and maybe he finds a way to get the Gauntlet again if our heroes travel back in time (as many of the rumors suggest).

However, just Thanos getting the gauntlet again isn’t my prediction. I think he will try to use it again and he’ll be stopped by Nebula is some weird round about way like he was in the comic book “Infinity Gauntlet”. We know Thanos is a mad titan and that he is a fundamentally flawed and unstable human being. Maybe he will expose himself because of some natural flaw like he did in the story these movies are based on. Either way, when the opportunity to take the Gauntlet off Thanos presents itself, I think Nebula is the one to do it.

5) Finally, I think we'll get a scene that is fairly faithful to this one here:

I want a scene where Cap and Thanos really face off one on one. We saw for a split second at the end of Infinity War that Cap had the strength to resist Thanos. I think if they fight without the Infinity Gauntlet then we could get a really compelling fight.

Those are my quick, last minute Endgame predictions! Nothing too extreme but also hopefully a little unique and different than what most others had.
